Jetstream Studio - release 2026.10.08
This release makes Playout scheduling more flexible: a slot can hold several main videos, and a whole playlist can be placed into it in one step. Live streams can now deliver to destinations that only accept an incoming SRT connection. Alongside, it fixes a long list of problems with uploads, live streams, video quality and the Playout schedule.
New
Jetstream Studio
- SRT Caller delivery for live streams - on a stream's Stream Output, the SRT/RTMP tab now has "Add delivery" with a Listener / Caller choice; Caller pushes the live stream to a host and port you enter, for receivers that only accept an incoming SRT connection, and shows its connection status and link quality on the delivery row. A stream that was already live before this release needs one restart before a Caller delivery is added to it.
Playout
- Several main videos in one slot - turn on "Allow multiple main videos" in a slot's menu to place several episodes in it; they play one after another in the order you set, with promos and fillers between them.
- Playlists in the schedule - the schedule's Media tab has a Playlists folder; open a playlist to drag single episodes, or add the whole playlist at once to a slot that allows multiple main videos, each episode becoming a main video in the playlist's order.
Improved
Jetstream Studio
- Time zone shown next to release and publishing dates - the date pickers for an episode's release date and for scheduled sharing now say which time zone the time is in, and also show the organization's time when it differs from yours.
- Geo-restrictions open to Organization Admins - Organization Admins can now open the Geo-restrictions tab in Brand Settings and manage it themselves.
Playout
- Master Control warns when a channel cannot go on air - if the channel's server has channels turned off, or no server is selected, Master Control says so in place of the player and holds Start back, instead of leaving the channel stuck at "Starting".
JetEditor and Jet AI
- Smoother JetEditor timeline - the playhead now moves smoothly during playback and the timeline grid stays fixed at 30 frames per second, so positions on it are predictable.
- Jet AI explains a skipped Confirm Cast - when Jet AI finds nobody in an episode and skips the Confirm Cast step, the step now shows Jet AI's own explanation of why.
Fixed
Jetstream Studio
- Failed upload parts are retried first - when several files were uploading over a slow link, a part that failed was not sent again before the uploader moved on to the next file, which could leave a file at "Uploading" with no error. A failed part is now retried before the next file starts.
- Interrupted uploads stay resumable for 7 days - an interrupted upload could only be resumed for 24 hours; after that, Resume was refused.
- Resume offered in tabs that were already open - an interrupted upload was offered for resuming only after an already open Jetstream Studio tab was reloaded.
- Uploads by brand-only users complete - a user whose access comes only from a brand role could upload a whole file and still see the media stay at "Waiting" forever.
- Live streams no longer flip offline and back - a live stream could switch between offline and online every two minutes in Jetstream Studio while viewers were still watching it without trouble.
- Healthy live streams are not stopped at start - a live stream that was publishing normally could be stopped about a minute after it started.
- Stream recordings with a dubbed track play - a recording could be published with an empty dubbed audio track, and then the whole recording would not play.
- Captions of stream recordings match the video - captions of a recording covered the whole live session instead of the recorded part, so they never lined up with the video.
- Transcription starts after reprocessing - after a video was reprocessed, transcription and AI metadata never started and the episode stayed blocked.
- Every processed video becomes playable - now and then a video finished processing but was left without its playable streaming version.
- Original audio quality kept - transcoding a master lowered its audio below the original's bitrate.
- Exported media keeps its quality - Export media re-encoded the video far below the master's bitrate, so a 10 Mbps master was exported at about 2.5 Mbps.
- Renditions table buttons are back - the restart, open, download and copy link buttons on the rows of a media's Renditions table were hidden.
- Player shows time on mid-size players - players between 400 and 590 pixels wide, a common size for website embeds, hid the current time and the duration.
- Stats for nerds in Safari - in Safari 26.5, Shift+D opened the player's Stats for nerds panel without drawing it.
- Correct duration for older videos - for some videos uploaded before 2023, the duration read through the API was a thousand times too large, so a website could show a 14-minute video as 241 hours long.
- Jetstream Studio stays up under heavy load - a burst of heavy background work could make Jetstream Studio stop responding for a few minutes.
- Episode sorting through the MCP server - asking the Jetstream MCP server to list episodes by playlist order always failed; that sort is no longer offered there.
Playout
The Playout fixes below take effect on a channel the next time it is started.
- Smooth picture with a logo and crawl on - a channel logo could freeze the on-air picture for up to almost a second, a 50 or 59.94 fps channel's online stream played in slow motion, and after a broadcast output reconnected a channel could come back with sound only. To keep the picture smooth, channel output now goes up to 1080p: the Video settings offer 1080p and 720p, and 4K is no longer available.
- Full-screen logo keeps its proportions on air - a full-screen channel logo looked right in the settings preview but was stretched to the frame on air.
- Channels come back after a streaming server restart - after the streaming server restarted, a channel could stay off air until someone stopped and started it by hand.
- Master Control preview reconnects - after a dropped connection the Master Control live preview stayed on the poster image instead of reconnecting.
- Up Next shows its rows - an Up Next graphic with a background image and an audio clip aired with the image covering its text rows.
- Clock-change days in the schedule - on a day the clocks change, a new slot starting between 03:00 and 03:59 after a slot ending at 03:00 was silently refused, and a slot dragged or resized into the skipped hour landed somewhere else without explanation.
- Correct GMT offset in the schedule calendar - the calendar's time column showed today's GMT offset even for a week on the other side of a clock change.
- Simultaneous slot edits stay consistent - two people editing the same slot at once could leave it with no main video, with two, or with a main video aired twice.
- Black-frame removal keeps video quality - removing black frames re-encoded the master far below its bitrate, so a 10 Mbps master dropped to about 2 Mbps.
- Dragged videos visible in Safari - in Safari, a video dragged inside a schedule slot was not shown under the cursor.
JetEditor and Jet AI
- Shorts preview after a clip ends - in JetEditor Shorts, the preview went black once a clip played to its end, and Play started the whole episode from its beginning instead of the clip.
Notice for integrators
Media.metadata.durationis in milliseconds for every media - for some videos uploaded before 2023 it returned microseconds; it now returns the master rendition's duration in milliseconds, the same value asMedia.masterRendition.duration. The field stays deprecated: readMedia.masterRendition.durationorMedia.formattedDuration, and remove any workaround for the old values.- SRT Caller deliveries in the restreams API - a live stream can now carry a restream of the new type
SrtCallerRestreamV2, created withcreateSrtCallerRestreamV2and changed withupdateSrtCallerRestreamV2.RestreamV2TypegainsSRT_CALLER_RESTREAMandRestreamV2StatusgainsCONNECTING: an integration that lists restreams and handles these enums exhaustively must accept the new values. - Playlist calls need rights in the playlist's organization - the playlist queries and mutations now require rights in the organization that owns the playlist, and creating or moving a playlist requires rights in the target organization. Use credentials of that organization.
- Channel output resolution up to 1080p -
updateChannelOutputSettingsnow refuses a 4K output resolution; send 1080p or 720p. - Storage API removed - the
storagesquery, the storage create, update and delete mutations andOrganization.storagesare gone, along with their types. They described records that no longer steer where media is stored; remove them from any query that still selects them.
